The Parasite trailer begins in a dark setting showing a cramped life in the basement of a poor family in Seoul. Two young people are trying to find some free wifi lines from the moldy room. Song Kang Ho plays the father Ki Taek, an unemployed middle-aged man living with his wife and two children. The whole family has no job, no money to cover life. Fortunately, Ki Woo (Choi Woo Sik) received the help of an old friend amd found a job as a tutor for a wealthy family in Seoul.
The title is “Parasite”, but when reading through the main content and watching the trailer, you might wonder: Where is the parasite? Explaining this question, this is purely a metaphor for the Parasite director. The parasite does not always mean itself. They can also represent “parasitic” people, parasites, pursuing something that benefits themselves. The parasite invades the host and erodes its contents.
With a great scholar’s degree created by Ki Jung (Park So Dam), Ki Woo appears confident at the lavish mansion of the Park family. The teaser gradually reveals the arrival of the rich Park family members: Park’s family member (Lee Sun Kyun), Yeon Kyo wife (Cho Yeo Jeong), teenage daughter Da Hye (Jung Ji So) and the eccentric young boy, Da Song (Jung Hyun Jun). Besides, the Park family also has the appearance of Moon Gwang’s butler (Lee Jung Eun).
Park’s daughter Da Hye quickly developed a sympathy for the tutor Ki Woo. Meanwhile, Da Hye’s mother expressed her desire to find an art tutor for her son. Opportunity to come, Ki Woo had the opportunity to introduce his sister Ki Jung into this position. The two were unfamiliar, trying to hide the truth in order to get the “ticket” out of the current poverty.
But then secretly can not hide forever, what will happen to the family of Ki Woo and Ki Jung, when it seems that family members of Park and housekeeper also keep a secret secret somehow?
