Birth flowers in Korea

The national flower of Korea is the hibiscus, which blooms almost everywhere on countless bushes from July to September. It represents the simple beauty and strong spirit and health of the nation. This is due to the fact that the hibiscus is basically hardly susceptible to diseases compared to other plants and it is very weatherproof.

In addition, a flower is assigned to each day. Sometimes flowers occur several times, trees and other plants are also listed under the birth flowers.

Why do Koreans have a birth flower?

In Korea people are very superstitious anyway and therefore firmly believe that the date of birth and also the name can influence a person’s fate. Shamanism and predicting friendships and relationships through blood type (instead of zodiac signs) are part of everyday life.

In contrast, the flower does not necessarily influence a person’s personality, but of course it still has a meaning – according to the international language of flowers.
